Amanda Kaas was my very first post-doc in my lab in Frankfurt. It was a wonderful experience for the young me building a lab to be joined by a resourceful rising star. Amanda brought new insights, advice and a good atmosphere to the lab. It was only a short but successful stay in my lab. We worked on an imagery study before Amanda returned to Maastricht and I followed her science with more distance but much appreciation. Any time we met she sparked the room with her energy and good mood. I regret that I have never heard her singing – but I remember her smile well.
