I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2013 with a first class BSc Hons in Psychology and Biology. I then went on to complete an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of York and graduated in 2015. My MSc project investigated the function of the visual cortex whilst an artificial temporary scotoma was induced in subjects with normal vision. Although I have always had an interest in visual neuroscience, this project prompted a particular interest in the role of feedback within the visual cortex. I am currently a first year PhD student in the Muckli lab and my project will investigate whether dim feedforward visual input can be amplified by contextual feedback.
